I'm signing up for grad school (yes, AGAIN), at Vanderbilt, since work covers 1 class per term there. There are classes that I would like to take in the data science program, but the classes are all in-person and during the work day. My boss might allow that, but I really don't want to have to drive to campus. So I'm looking at an all-online comp sci masters program, and I need to decide on who to ask for recommendations - I need 3.

I also don’t recall the application process being this in-depth for WGU - at Vanderbilt, it’s essentially the same information as if I was applying for a job plus an added essay of ‘intent’.

My favorite side effect of writing automated test scripts for regression is having those tests find - as my boss put it - 'where the bones are buried.' Either as I'm in the process of writing these tests or when they fail when running regression tests after a code roll, I've found several outlier bugs. Even better when these automated scripts find the bugs before the new functionality goes to prod.

I must also be a unicorn because I can do manual testing AND write automation scripts for testing.

Had a follow-up visit with primary care and got a referral to rheumatology. This process of trial and error for food intolerance discovery is exhausting, both mentally and physically. A moderately robust regimen of prednisone had me feeling SUPER for the first few days (was able to get 10 miles of runs in on that week!), on the highest doses, which has gradually faded during the requisite taper. Yesterday was a good day because I stuck to eating foods that I know are safe for me to eat, but once this course of steroids is done I won't have anything to buffer or mitigate reactions to whatever food my body thinks is a threat.

So I am avoiding the things that I now know are issue:
apples
eggs
dairy of all kinds and animals
tomatoes
pistachios
bacon
all booze
bottled lemon or lime juice (I suspect the preservatives in)
